Sulaimani Chai
Sulaimani chai is an aromatic spiced tea that has captured the specific regions of South India, especially Kerala, as one of the favourite beverages of the place. Containing refreshing and soothing properties, this tea will be a very striking alternative to milk chai and is popular owing to its strong flavour and sometimes somewhat intense smell, without even the use of any dairy product. The name "Sulaimani" is derived from the Arabic word "Sulaiman," or the prophet Solomon, representing wisdom. It is said to have originated initially in the royal courts of the Arabian Peninsula before moving on to the shores of India. The simplicity and flexibility of Sulaimani chai make it really special. Masala chai is often richer and creamier, thanks to the milk that is added, in comparison, but the sweet flavour of Sulaimani chay, with undertones from cardamom, cloves, or cinnamon, with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for added bite, can be rivalled by no other. It's sweetened with sugar or jaggery but can always be modified to the individual's taste. Variations come in with a dash of ginger or mint leaves and refreshing zest. Sulaimani chai is often drunk post-meal, mainly as a digestive brew- its blend of spices is said to calm the stomach and improve digestion. It is, at its best, an invigorating, primarily light, clear infusion with a citrusy zing. Sulaimani chai is always a wonderful blend of emotions and traditions, whether you take it in the evening over lively conversation.
